Join us across two April weekends as Wicks Place spills out into the park, bringing together live music, picnic-ready food and easy afternoons in the Autumn sun, right here in Marrickville.

Across 11–12 and 18–19 April from 11am–3pm, Wicks Place and Wicks Park will come to life with a rotating lineup of live music, lawn games scattered across the grass and plenty of space to make your own setup, whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or easing into the afternoon.

This time of year does most of the work for you. The sun’s still out, the heat’s eased off, the kind of weather that belongs in the park. An open invitation to take things outside. Pick something up from the precinct, walk it next door, and settle in.

Picnic Packs (your shortcut to the perfect setup)

To keep things simple, Wicks Place retailers will be offering curated picnic packs designed to go straight from counter to grass.

The $25 Picnic for Two Packs are balanced, easy spreads for a light lunch between friends! Pick between:

½ Chargrill chicken, small slaw or salad, and bread rolls from Chargrill Charlie’s

2 small burritos or bowls + 2 x 600ml Cool Ridge waters from Zambrero

For something more generous, the $50 Family Picnic Packs are built for sharing and staying a while. Choose from packs including:

A whole chicken, 2 salads, bread rolls, and small chips from Chargrill Charlie’s

2 small burritos or bowls, 1 quesadilla stack, and 2 regular chips from Zambrero

A sushi platter with assorted rolls, karaage chicken, spring rolls and edamame from Sushi Train

Plus, selected purchases come with a complimentary Wicks Place picnic blanket (while they last).

If you’d rather build it your way, Harris Farm will be running a ‘Build Your Own’ deli-style cart, letting you mix and match any 4-5 items from the cart for just $25. Take your pick of charcuterie, dips, fresh juice and other picnic favourites.

Live music across the weekends

Each afternoon will be soundtracked by a different local artist, with relaxed, feel-good sets running across the park from 11am–3pm.
Saturday 11 April: The Sitch

An electro-pop trio from Summer Hill bringing upbeat, genre-blending covers and mashups.
Sunday 12 April: Daniel Tomalaris

A familiar voice across Sydney’s live music scene, known for soulful, stripped-back sets inspired by Angus & Julia Stone and Vance Joy.
Saturday 18 April: Lachlan

A Marrickville-based musician moving between pop, rock, blues and jazz, shaping each set to the mood of the afternoon.
Sunday 19 April: Lydia Smithers

A Sunday session favourite bringing a mix of pop, folk, R&B and indie for an easy, sun-soaked finish.

Family Fun

Beyond the food and music, the park will be set up for easy afternoons, with lawn games like giant Jenga and Connect 4 scattered across the grass, face painting sessions for kids running across both weekends, and plenty of open space to lay down a blanket and make your own afternoon of it.
